Future Corporations is heavily inspired by the Galactic Magnate game, which was operating in the late 2000s. Galactic Magnate was created by Krešimir Ćosić and abandoned in the early 2010s for some reason. The merit of Galactic Magnate is the game balance improvement over the classic board game.

In its turn, Galactic Magnate is based on the classic Monopoly board game designed by Charles Darrow and popularized by Parker Brothers in the 1930s. The Monopoly game is now owned by Hasbro.

Monopoly, in its turn, was most likely inspired by The Landlord's Game designed by Lizzie Magie in the 1900s.

Creators of Future Corporations appreciate the parents of the game. Without them, Future Corporations would unlikely ever made.
